Liturgical dark folk from the ancient Germanic kingdoms of Hispania.
New album Gutiska Gudleiþa out now.
Baírkana is an independent musical project dedicated to Visigothic pagan music — dark folk compositions rooted in the spiritual traditions of the Germanic peoples who ruled the Iberian Peninsula from the 5th to the 8th century.
Devotional and liturgical in nature, the music serves Visigothic Odinism and the Thiudisk Guthiska path, reviving ancestral memory and pre-Christian Hispania’s sacred soundscapes.
“From the northern winds to the mountains of ancient Gallaecia — may the old gods speak again.”
Debut full-length album
Nine liturgical compositions in reconstructed Gothic and archaic Portuguese, dedicated to the gods of the Visigothic pantheon and the sacred rebirth of Thiudisk Guthiska.
